FAQ's: |
What areas of the country do you hunt in? |
|
Right now we are focused on locations in the Denver, CO area for training purposes. Once our training period is over, we want to investigate the many ghost towns in the Colorado Rockies. |
What is the difference between a skeptic and a non-believer? |
|
Well, in our opinion, a skeptic is someone who evaluates all the evidence and makes a decision based on the evidence. A non-believer is someone who will ignore evidence when faced with things that challenge their beliefs. We try to be skeptical, as many "Haunted" locations can have natural explainations for activity. We do not go out to "debunk" per say, rather we try to go out with an open mind. |
Do you get permission to hunt on private property? |
|
Always. Nothing gives us a worse name than the "ghost hunting" groups that break and enter a location just to do a hunt. We get written permission from the owner, and if it is a public location, notify the local law enforcement organizations. Being a paranormal researcher NEVER gives you the right to trespass! |
How do you plan your hunts? |
| |
After choosing a location, we do at least 2 daytime site surveys, to make sure we know the area and terrain. We also take measurements and draw up a "map" of the location. If it seems to be safe from a physical standpoint, we begin researching it. Once the research is done, using the map, we plan out our hunt, location of equipment, ect. We then have a team meeting before we go to the site, to make sure everyone is on the same page and all equipment that we need is packed. |
Do you believe in ghosts? |
| |
That really is the $64,000 question, isn't it? Even though we try to be as skeptical as possible, our beliefs will have some influence...so the truth is, some of us lean towards belief, others don't....I guess that is why we are out here, to try to find the answers. |
Do you use "psychics" in your hunt? |
| |
No, not really. Nothing against them, but what impressions a psychic gets from a location is not evidence. We may use them occassionally at a location where we are having trouble getting research information, to see if they can get any names or dates as a starting point, but we do not and will not publish that information as fact. The truth is, several of us have had paranormal experiences and can "feel" when spirits are around, but again, it is not evidence and should not be presented that way. |
What about Ouija Boards? |
| |
Ah, the good old ouija board. For starters, let us say that these are not "toys" that should be played around with. When you use one, it is like making an open invitation for anything to come into your home. Some people argue that using one is no different than doing EVP work, but, in our opinion, there is a huge difference. Think about it this way; EVP work is like coming home after work, walking in the front door, closing the door, and asking your roommate how his day was. Using a ouija board is like coming come from work, walking in the door, leaving the door wide open, randomly picking a number out of the phone book, calling that number, and then telling the person who answers your address, the fact the door is open, and to stop on by and tell you how their day went. When you use a board, you never know who or what will show up, which is one reason we do not use them or encourage their use. The other reason is the same as for not using psychics...it simply is not evidence. The same goes for seances. Unless you are specifically trained to do one, you never know what you could be inviting into your home or your life. They are also not evidence. So, for the simplest answer...No, we do not use either of them. |
